I purchased this item and within weeks of using it the pedal broke off by the tension bar. The metal broke right through. I had gotten another one and once again after very little use it did the exact same thing.I was very disappointed to say the least. Just wanted to give my experience with this product so you can make an informed choice.

After looking over all the pedal exercisers on Amazon, I decided to go with this one. One reason was that it was sold directly by Amazon, so it got free shipping, where all the under 20.00 models had 12-18.00 shipping fees. I was hoping the extra money would mean a better quality exerciser.
It also advertised sealed bearings, something which I didn’t see on the others. I was hoping this would mean that the unit wouldn’t heat up after prolonged use, however I was wrong in this regard.
Overall the exerciser works very well. It squeaks a little at first, especially when you add tension, but I sprayed some WD-40 in it and after it warms up, it quiets down. Compared to a bicycle, it’s a much smaller pedaling radius, but once you get used to it it can give you a good workout. I’ve been using it with small hand weights that I will lift while pedaling, this gives me a much better overall workout.
Pros:
Inexpensive, seems well constructed. I’ve read that some other models break easily.
Comes pre-assembled.
You can get a decent workout with it.
You can watch TV or read while using it.
Cons:
It heats up! Like other pedalers, it starts heating up after about 15 minutes, and by 30 minutes you could get burned if you touch the inside pedal bars. Be careful to only lift it by the pedals or the actual feet of the exerciser when finished using it.
The squeaking: It does go away after a while, but at first it’s very annoying. I’m not sure if the WD-40 helped, but it didn’t hurt anything.
Size of the pedal straps: The pedal straps are too small for my 10 1/2 sneakers, even when I let them out to the larger setting. I have to use it in my socks, which makes me leery of the heating factor.
Overall Impression: I decided to buy this after my 300.00 Eliptical Trainer died after only 13 months. I don’t get as hard a workout as I did with the trainer, but when I combine the pedaling action with two 3lb hand weights and do lots of reps, I get a good cardio workout going.
